Biomass
Biomass
Organic materials, such as wood, agricultural crops or wastes, and municipal wastes can be used as a source of fuel or energy, either burned directly or processed into biofuels such as ethanol and methane. In domestic situations biomass usually refers  to wood burnt directly or to wood pellets. Biomass is a sustainable resource because it is constantly being formed and when burnt in a stove or boiler only releases the same amount of CO2 as it absorbed when growing. Stoves may be designed to burn wood or pellets and will needs a flue specially designed for wood burning appliances.
